The Characters:

The Sorcerer's Apprentice: Illyana Rasptuin (gospel-of-oblivion, Student)
Canon: What If?: Magik, post-canon. Pre-canon for Doctor Strange: The End.
PB: Anya Joy Taylor
Original infopost here.
☪ Illyana Nikolievna Alexandria Rasputina. Illyana Rasputin to English speakers. 'Yana to Kitty. Maybe Brooklyn, Uly, and Lana could get away with using that name too. If you call her Illy she'll look at you funny.
☪ Seventeen years old, looks slightly younger due to years of malnutrition and neglect, although she no longer looks like she hasn't eaten in a year. Blonde hair, blue eyes, very clearly a feral cat stuffed in the body of a teenage girl. Sarcasm, trust issues, dubious morality, and tends to dress very grunge/punk in a deliberate effort to keep people at arm's length and hide the fact she's a good person under everything.
☪ Mutant, from a universe slightly to the left of most of our Merry Marvel Misfits in the game. Her mutant powers give her control of disks of light she calls Stepping Disks, which allow her (and others) to move through time and space. She's pretty good with the space-part, she can bop around the island no problem, but going any farther than that (or too many teleports in too short of a time) and she starts having problems with skipping up-and-down the timeline uncontrollably. She can eventually get back to when she started, but it can take awhile and she can't move through time on command (yet). She can also manifest a magical armor when channeling large amounts of magic, but can't control that either.

☪ When in Sorcerer Supreme mode, will be carrying a very big magic staff that she can summon from thin air, and wearing an enchanted red-and-gold cape that looks familiar to anyone who knows a Doctor Strange anywhere in the multiverse.
☪ She was kidnapped as a child and raised in a Hell plane (Limbo) by a demon lord to become a magical WMD. As a result, part of her soul has literally been sacrificed to Dark Gods, and she's got a bit of a trauma/temper issue. Her temper (demonic side) is named Darkchilde and you don't really want to meet her. You'll know if you're meeting Darkchilde, because Ilyana will have horns, yellow or red eyes, and possibly hooves and a tail. Will DEFINATELY be acting more demonic than usual.
☪ If you're sensitive to magic, demons, or angels, 'Yana probably lights up like a gods-damned Christmas tree on your radar. She was raised to chaos and void magic, but has since learned the other types and is extremely focused on creation magic, resulting in the creation of her Soul Staff. It disrupts magic, is uniquely lethal to magical people and creatures, and can be used to simply hit things when needed.
☪ 'Yana said FUCK THAT and when her mutant powers manifested, got the FUCK out of Limbo. Except seven years had passed for her, while only 5 min had passed in her universe. Her parents don't believe it's her, her brother and his friends don't know what to make of her, and when she tried the New Mutants... it didn't go well. So she ran away from Westchester, and set off hitchhiking across the country.

☪ She kinda started maiming and killing predators and assholes along the way (they were trying to hurt her first!), sending the magical community into a panic over the mysterious demon doing murder, and resulting in them calling in Stephen Strange. And he sort of ended up adopting her. As you do when encountering a feral magical child.
☪ Originally came to Fandom in Fall 2019. Due toplayer real-life issues a timey-wimey magical battle that took her away from the island just a few weeks into the term, Illyana gets to repeat her junior year. Yay. Strange says she needs the socio-emotional development of being around a peer group. 'Yana would much rather be in New York eating pastrami and doing magic full-time than sitting in an ethics or history class.
☪ Is slowly realizing she's bi or pan (jossing what I had thought, given all her AU counterparts tend to date ladies).

The Princess Royal: Ghanima Atreides (Teacher: The Art of War)
Children of Dune Miniseries, Post-Canon.
PB: Jessica Brooks
♠ Ghanima is one of those people whom it is hard to miss. Tall, blonde, and striking, with the deep blue-on-blue glowing eyes (yes, they are VERY NOTICEABLE) of the Fremen of Dune.

♠ Ghanima is the daughter of Paul Atreides and his Fremen concubine Chani, step-daughter to previous student/townie Irulan Corrino-Atreides
irulan_atreides, and the twin sister to Leto Atreides II (
future_sandworm ). Timeline-wise, she's from Leto's present and is just a bit behind Irulan. Oh, Fandom Weird, how we love you.
♠ She is the Princess Royal of the Known Universe, Empress of the Imperium, and a potential harbinger of the Golden Path. Currently, she's a liberal arts teacher at Fandom High.
♠ Has absolutely no qualms about stabbing you in the back. Ghanima has a strong sense of morality and duty, it's just that her morals are very very different than yours. Oh, and if you threaten her students, you're dead. You just don't know it yet.
♠ Ghanima is Pre-born; her mother, Chani, consumed so much melange during her pregnancy that Leto and Ghanima awoke to full, adult consciousness before birth, receiving the genetic memories of both their male and female ancestors. This means she has voices in her head. Lots and lots of voices, and they're all real. She's got excellent mental shielding, but probably would register strangely to any telepathic abilities.
♠ Tends to collect bb Jedi & Sith. Not a fan of the Jedi Code, and has been tempted to simply KEEP a student more than once. Honestly, they'd be happier and more productive in her universe.
♠ Ten-thousand years in her future, a Duncan Idaho ghola will mention that "the Tleilaxu history said Ghanima had died after a relatively normal life." The Tleilaxu obviously never heard of Fandom.

Librarian, Teacher, & Walking Disaster: John Constantine
Canon: Vertigo's Hellblazer, post 'Dangerous Habits'
PB: Matt Ryan. Yes, I finally changed it. YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE PRETTY.
✖ NOW HIRING LIBRARY AIDES.
✖ John Constantine - or if you ask anyone who knows him, John ALSKDFJALSKFJ FUCK YOU Constantine - is a chaos mage. Really, he's more of a con man, running the long-odds against all the Things that go Bump in the Night. The easy joke would be to say that John is a lover, not a fighter, but his lovers tend to end up rather dead. In very unfortunate and painful ways, usually with demons involved.
No. Really. There's almost always demons involved.
✖ Pretty much every single post is going to have swearing. John swears a lot, and doesn't censor it for kids. This is your warning.
✖ He also smokes almost constantly, drinks, and will cheerfully sleep with you. Sorry-not-sorry.

✖ Shockingly, he's good with children, especially teenagers, assuming they don't end up dead or traumatized by being in his life, much like the adults around him.
Unlike many of the adults of the DCU/Vertigo worlds, Constantine takes children seriously - deadly seriously. Given his own utterly-shit upbringing, John's pretty good at understanding teenagers and bad situations, and makes a surprisingly decent uncle-figure to some. He even acts as a quasi-mentor to Tim Hunter, one of the most powerful rising magic users of the Vertigo/DCU, although, being John, he's not necessarily the best role model in the world.

✖ John is very much a 'brains over brawn' character. He's good in a brawl, but he'd much rather outsmart his opponents then beat them up, although he's not above kicking them while they're down. Or fighting dirty or using magic or.... John isn't a very nice man, and he'll be the first to say so. Manipulation and cunning are how he prefers to win against his opponents, and always doing so with a grand 'fuck you, mate.'
✖ He's not a particularly nice person, but he doesn't have to be; he's there to keep the dangerous magics of Special Collections out of the hands of the students and to use them for his own ends.
✖ Library rules are here. For those of you with daylight restrictions who wish to use the library, email me and we'll figure something out.

✖ Visually, well, he was designed to look like Sting, although DC mandated that Vertigo move away from that fairly early on. So, his PB is Matt Ryan, who plays John in the DCU media properties (Constantine, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, various DC animated films).
